LRSA SURVEY OF YOUNGER MEMBERS

We have been contacted by the LRSA requesting that we highlight a survey of junior solicitors which they are undertaking following a request from the Minister for Justice.

The survey is titled Understanding your views on the solicitors’ profession.

They advise that the research pays particular attention to equity of access and entry into the legal professions, and the objective of achieving greater diversity within the professions. Based on the research, the LSRA advise that they will submit a report with recommendations to the Minister next year.

They further advise that each solicitor trainee and current practising certificate holder with seven years PQE or less has recently been sent an email with a unique URL link to the survey.  This email was sent to trainees and practitioners on behalf of the LSRA by the Law Society of Ireland.

The survey asks questions relating to respondents’ views and experiences of the solicitor profession, the process of qualification, and also demographic information.

Ahead of the survey closing on 14th November, they have asked us to remind younger  members of the Southern Law Association of the survey and encourage those to whom it has been sent to complete it ahead of the deadline. The Law Society have confirmed that they will resend the survey link to anyone who cannot find it in their inbox. They can be contacted on survey@lawsociety.ie. The LSRA’s  team are also available on publicconsultations@lsra.ie
