For the first time in history the Southern Law Association held its AGM remotely on 17th November last.
A scaled down Council convened donning masks and were socially distanced at Court 1 at the Courthouse on Washington Street where outgoing President Robert Baker and Honory Secretary Catherine O’Callaghan presided.
The AGM was then beamed to members via Pexip. Juli Rea of JRAP O’Meara Solicitors was elected President for 2021 and Gerard O’Flynn of Gerald A J O’Flynn & Company Solicitors was elected Vice President. Over 100 members dialled into the event remotely.
Newly appointed Law Society President James Cahill and Ken Murphy, Director General also dialled in and addressed the attendees remotely. Another first in these strange and unusual times but thanks to technology and the efforts of the Honory Secretary, Robert Baker and Juli Rea, the event went off without a glitch and every member that joined will receive their CPD points too!
