The 2015 Act is about supporting decision-making and maximizing a person’s capacity to make decisions. It brings about important changes for people who may require support to make decisions. These decisions can be about their personal welfare, health and social care, and their property and affairs.

Dr Ralstons lecture will focus on what this means in practice and will consider how and when capacity applications should be made to the Circuit Court.

Clare Daly of CKT will speak on the Online Safety and Media Regulation Act 2022, a landmark piece of legislation. Itlays the foundations for a new regulatory frontier of online safety which will be of great importance to protecting all online users, but particularly children.

This lecture will provide a practical update on the new law, the expected impact on online safety and the mechanisms now available under the new Act.
