The objective of the programme is to upskill out of work solicitors into new areas where there are job opportunities for them. An equally important objective is to fill skill gaps for employers in areas where they cannot expand or meet existing service demands due to skills shortages.
Skills gaps in the construction law area have been identified for this programme. We intend addressing this through a construction law employment activation programme. This will comprise of an intensive three week blended learning construction law course, career support training and an onsite or virtual work placement of 20 weeks duration.
The training programme is due to commence on 24 May with the work placement period commencing on 12 July.
